Resilient Ecosystems

Introducing the Resilient Ecosystems Committee

The Resilient Ecosystems Committee is a space in which woodlot licensees can meet to discuss Old Growth Mandates. The primary focus is to provide guidance to licensees on how to navigate Old Forest requirements while increasing sustainable Old Forest attributes within their tenure area.

So, what has the Resilient Ecosystems Committee been up to?  Well, we’ve been working on getting tools together for you! With the help of a Silviculture Innovation Program Grant, we developed a pamphlet that was released at the 2025 Woodlots BC Conference in Osoyoos.

So, hopefully if you attended, you took some copies home, and maybe grabbed some for your woodlot friends group too.

The Resilient Ecosystems Committee is going to spend the rest of the year and next sharing information we’ve found to help you utilize tools to increase the reliance of your woodlot.
