The Federation of BC Woodlot Associations and the Woodlot Product Development Council held their Conference and AGM in Campbell River and Quadra Island, September 19-22, 2013 hosted by the North Island Woodlot Association.

The focus was Woodlots: The Island Way – A showcase of Community Friendly Forestry.

Highlights included field tours on Quadra Island and the challenges operating close to the urban interface, Cape Mudge Band’s WLs after 40 years of managing resources and TFL 47’s hardwood trials; speakers Rick Monchak, TimberWest, Judi Cunningham, UBC Sauder School of Business; Bill Markvoort & Terry Basso, Probyn Group focusing on coastal markets and Minister Thomson at the Friday night banquet.

The FBCWA and WPDC conducted their Directors’ meetings immediately following the AGM on Sunday September 22, 2013.
