Woodlots BC Bursary

The Woodlots BC Bursary, new in 2024 and a successor of the Federation of BC Woodlot Associations’ annual scholarship program, is intended for a recipient who has a proven track record of being engaged in their community and has aspirations for continuing education or post-secondary education enrolment. This bursary is for $5,000.

With a focus on “the support and wellbeing of our communities through education”, the bursary is aimed at supporting an individual  who has a personal vision.  The successful applicant does not need to be the fastest, strongest, or the brightest star,  we seek to find an individual who has shown commitment by demonstrating their best efforts towards achieving  their goals, and who aspires to continuing their education. The bursary may be awarded for either academic or vocational pursuits.

Apply by email:  sending us a  “getting to know you”  document which will describe the usual contact information, interests, experiences and your community involvement.  Your submission must include statements of your intent, and how you intend to reach your goal. Further to this we are interested to know how this bursary will make a difference to you and the potential benefits to your community.

Please include the  names, emails and phone numbers of 2 non-family references that we might contact. (e.g., teachers, employers)

Selection of the winning candidate will be based on an evaluation of all applications received by May 1, 2025.

We will reach out to the successful applicant by June 15, 2025.
